Arapahoe Basin parking

A-Basin has announced weekend parking reservations for January 2–May 2, 2027, from 6 am to 1 pm. General parking is $20, or free with four or more people—but that carpool still needs a reservation.

Field tipA lift pass is not a parking reservation. Before a weekend trip, book the vehicle, enter the correct plate, and keep the confirmation handy. Four people can remove the general parking charge, not the booking requirement.

How parking works

The operator’s explicitly labeled 2026–27 FAQ says reservations apply on Saturdays and Sundays from January 2 through May 2, 2027, between 6 am and 1 pm. Early Riser, High Noon, Last Chance and Upper Last Chance general parking costs $20 per vehicle during that window. A vehicle carrying four or more people gets a free general reservation. Accessible parking is also free with an advance reservation. A weekday trip is simpler: those general lots are free and first come, first served.

The Admin Lot is a different product: the announced FAQ lists $40 per day throughout the season, with weekend reservations starting January 2. The Beach requires reservations every day, and its rate varies. Do not treat either lot as ordinary free weekday parking. After 1 pm on reservation weekends, the FAQ says general parking is free without a reservation. That is a shorter ski day, not a promise that a space will be waiting.

The published parking basics describe walking access from the general lots and shuttle service on peak days. Check the lot map before unloading, especially with children or lesson gear. Overnight parking and camping are prohibited year-round, and the operator says RVs and trailers are not permitted. Highway 6 is not an overflow lot: the operator warns that roadside vehicles can be towed. It also explicitly says A-Basin guests may not park at Keystone’s River Run transit stop.

For a car-free day, use the linked Summit Stage schedule rather than assuming last winter’s connection will still run. CDOT documents a Snowstang route from Denver to A-Basin, but its page says the 2025–26 service has ended. We have not verified a 2026–27 operating calendar. Before buying a bus ticket, check that your exact date has both an outbound and a return trip.

What changed

The announced 2026–27 reservation calendar starts January 2, 2027, and ends May 2. The older parking basics page still describes January 17–May 3, 2026, while older resort search listings mentioned January 3, 2026. These are conflicting or out-of-date references to last winter; do not transfer them into the new season.

For this guide, the explicitly labeled 2026–27 FAQ and the matching 2026–27 parking-pass page take priority over those older notices. The new page lists a $229 season parking pass, but holding one still does not remove the reservation requirement. The operator says individual bookings will become available later in 2026. Release timing and specific arrival/cancellation terms should be checked in the live booking system, not inferred from last year.

Arrive or skip?

If

You want first chair on a reservation weekend

Secure the correct reservation before leaving. Aim to reach the lot before lift opening, allow for winter roads, and read any arrival deadline in your confirmation. This is planning advice, not a guaranteed space outside the booking terms.

If

You have four or more people in one vehicle

Book the free carpool option and arrive together. Do not split the group across vehicles and assume the discount follows everyone.

If

You cannot get a reservation

Choose a confirmed transit trip, a weekday, or general parking after 1 pm if the shorter day works. Do not drive up hoping highway parking will solve it.

If

The pass is restricted or road conditions are unsafe

Delay or skip the drive. Parking availability does not make Loveland Pass safe or open; check COtrip before departure.

Questions people ask

Does my Ikon or A-Basin pass reserve my car?

No. Lift access and vehicle parking are separate. The parking-pass page also says parking-pass holders must make the required reservations.

Can a four-person carpool just turn up?

Not during the announced weekend reservation window. The general carpool reservation is free, but you still need to book it.

Is every lot free after 1 pm?

The FAQ describes free general parking after 1 pm. Do not extend that promise to the separately priced Admin Lot or the daily-reservation Beach.

Which start date should I use?

Use January 2, 2027, for the announced 2026–27 weekend program, then verify the date in your booking confirmation. January 3 and January 17, 2026, belong to older conflicting notices.

Can I sleep in my vehicle?

No. The operator prohibits overnight parking and camping in all its lots year-round. Arrange lawful overnight parking with your lodging instead.

Dillon or Silverthorne

A practical place to compare lodging if you want to avoid driving from Denver that morning. Ask about overnight vehicle parking and check the actual transit connection; a town address does not guarantee a direct bus.

Keystone area

Closer lodging can shorten the approach on US 6. Confirm guest parking with the property, and remember that A-Basin guests cannot use River Run as a parking workaround.
